Ted / Dad

Merry Christmas!!  As usual, here I am Christmas Eve trying to finish this website.  I thought it would be easy this year, because I have my photo's much better organized - but ....... (I guess next year I have to start sooner.

We had a great year.  The kids are doing well in school, and having lots of fun with all their activities.  Louise and I are having a hard time keeping up with the taxi service.  It's hard to say NO, when all the activities are good for them, and they are having so much fun.

Louise and I are having fun snowboarding with the kids.  Spencer is already better than me, and Laura isn't far behind.  I suspect that this year she will pass me too.  She doesn't get involved in many sporting activities, and claims she is not coordinated, but last year she was racing me down the hill at Rabbit, and beating me about 1/2 the time.

I don't ever remember having more fun than our ski trip to the mountains with the kids last April.

With the weird weather we had last summer, I didn't get in as much windsurfing or kiting as usual.  I had a great trip to the Gorge in the spring with the usual gang from Edmonton.  The fall trip was lots of fun, but I got away late because of a Council meeting, and the wind shut down by the time I got there.  I only had a few hours sailing for my 3,500Km.

We had a wonderful summer holiday to Nitinat again this year. (More in the "Other Stuff" section.)

I had fun helping to coach both Spencer's Soccer Team (last spring), and his volleyball team (this fall).  Its a lot of fun to watch him.  He is getting taller and turning into quite an athlete.  I am starting to suspect that he is not related to me - he is very lean, and loves to run.

Camrose is still growing rapidly, which makes work very busy.  We have approval for a few more staff this coming year, so that should help - once we have them trained.  For those who know Camrose, we expect a large development on the East End next spring.  This will open up another major retail and tourist area (Casino - partnered with the Regional Exhibition).  The University of Alberta has also taken over our local Augustana University College (Formerly Camrose Lutheran College).  The new facility (Augustana Faculty of UofA), is set to double its Student population from 1000 to 2000 students within three years.  That's a 7% population increase for Camrose - not counting staff or any of the other development!  Very Exciting.

We also have a new Council.  This term they seem to be getting along, which is a very nice change.  Should make things easier.

I apologize to all those friends that we did not get to see in 04.  I hope we will be seeing you in 2005.

I hope you have a very Happy New Year!!

Cheers

Ted
