Ted / Dad

Merry Christmas!!  We had another great year.  In spite of being very busy at work, we were able to do lots of things as a family.

A combination of to much to do at work, and a non-windy summer meant not much windsurfing at home again this year.  Fortunately I was able to get away and sail elsewhere.  I went to the Canadian Speed Trials again at Keho Lake, and with the Edmonton gang both in the spring and the fall for a week in Hood River..  We also had a great family holiday again out in BC at Nitinat Lake - See Other Stuff.

My Kiteboarding is going very slowly, but I did get out a couple of times this year, and even made it back to where I started once, and was able to land the kite without getting everything all tangled.  Well be doing more next season.

Hood River Marina - Not a good day for Windsurfing!!!

We are still snowboarding at Rabbit Hill every weekend in the winter.  We hope to get to the mountains at least once this year.

I had a lot of fun helping coach Spencer's Soccer Team in the spring, and his Volleyball team in the fall.  I had to give up playing competitive Volleyball as it was just taking up to much time - not fair to Louise.  At the end of Spencer's season I rented our local Recreation Facility for a bunch of my Volleyball friends and their kids - for a "grudge" volleyball match.  The kids skills have really improved, and it is great to be able to play a real game with them.  As they get a little older there will be a brief moment when we should be able to have some really competitive games - before they pass us and don't want us on the court any more.

Spencer talked me into running an 8Km charity run this spring.  I had to train for a month first - almost wrecked my knees.  I did finish the race/run - in less than an hour - which supprised me.  But Spencer finished first - of course, then jogged back and then ran the last 2 km again - with me. (His time was very good).

Next year looks like another very busy year at work, so I am going to have to be very careful to manage my personal time.  It kind of got out of control this fall with to many major projects and not enough hours in the day.  We will be getting a few more people again this year which should help - once they are trained.

I hope that you are all well.  I apologize to all of my friends that I didn't get to see in 2005.  I hope we can get together in 2006.

See you soon!

Ted
