Louise / Mom
Another busy year . . . hmmmm . . . where to begin. Ted and I were in Québec City this past October. I loved it! Ted was presenting a paper at the Canadian National Drinking Water Conference - and I went shopping (I mean, I went along for a holiday).

This mural is one of many that we saw painted on the sides of buildings. Makes you feel like you are part of history...

While Ted was at meetings, I explored the old section of Québec City and practiced my French. If I could get in and out of a shop without the shopkeeper having to switch to English - I considered it a success!

In August Ted, Spencer and I headed to the Gorge for a week. The weather and scenery were wonderful. It was strange not having Laura with us; but between her trip to Europe with the choir and her time spent in Drumheller for the Passion Play - she needed to stay at home for work. One of our stops along the way was in Sparwood, which is where we saw this humungous truck.

Laura moved back home in July for a few weeks before heading off with Katimavik. It was very nice having her around. She left for Trois-Rivières on September 24th. In mid January Laura's group will be moving to Goose Bay, Labrador; and then in the Spring they will move to Orillia, Ontario. She should be home by the end of June. We miss our girl... but, thankfully, she seems to be enjoying herself.
The worlds biggest truck! Sparwood B.C.
During the winter and spring we went to several cities to watch Spencer's volleyball team.... It was a good excuse to visit with family in Calgary and friends in Grande Prairie. We started the summer by hosting some Rotarians from Texas and New Mexico. Also in July, Laura and I went down to Rosebud to watch "Fiddler on the Roof". It was a wonderful performance! I even camped out with Laura that night in Drumheller - which turned out to be very exciting with the back-to-back thunderstorms that raged thru the night..... (Ouch, she needs a better foamie!)

Other highlights for me this past year, were our trips to the farm.

It's always so nice to be with everyone at the farm.

This past November Ted and I got to know Corinna, who was spending a few weeks in Camrose (from Wales) to work on her Ph.D. by looking at the water system in Camrose. Corinna spent some time with us at home ... when we could manage to lure her away from the "Alice"...

I sure enjoy the deck that Pepère built us two years ago, and the chairs that Spencer made us for Christmas last year. I enjoy watching the seasons. We have some beautiful views from our house. More photos here..
