Merry Christmas!

Ted and I enjoyed another holiday to Huatulco in January. 2019 was the earliest we've gone down - leaving on January 3rd. They still had all of their Christmas decorations up - that was sure nice to see!

Unfortunately Spencer injured his knee quite badly over New Year's … and they decided in to do surgery in January (while we were away). He was not too concerned - I sure was! ! !

In February our nephew, Sean, was married to Michelle - in Costa Rica! Michelle will just be arriving in Canada this week before Christmas - we are looking forward to welcoming her into our family! In February we also began our journey with Ted's folks…. Starting with a tour of River Ridge (a seniors' facility). By the end of the month they had decided to downsize from their condo to a suite at River Ridge.

In the Spring I once again enjoyed my weekend retreat of "stamping" (making cards) with some friends! And in May we were down to Calgary to celebrate our niece's graduation (Taylor) - lots of fun!

June was pretty special, as Ted and I headed down to the Gorge again for some cycling and wine tasting fun! (Wellll…. cycling, wine tasting and "windsurfing" for Ted ;)

We tried some different cycling routes this year - superb! Once again I flew home - as the rest of the windsurf group arrived.

It's nice being retired & having the time for quick trips to the farm. I always enjoy spending time with mom & dad … usually staying for an over-night visit. And of course we always enjoy it when they come to visit us!

In July Ted and I took care of Chloe (our friends' dog) - for a couple of weeks, as they were away on a big trip. We sure enjoyed having her around… and she loves the water - so that was a lot of fun! We ended the month with a work project down by Medicine Hat.

August saw us back in Vernon - enjoying time with Lynn & Pierre. Boating, cycling (…on Predator Ridge! … out of my comfort zone…) & more boating!
Back home we had a special day on the lake. Both of our kids were home - & Samantha, Wyatt and Jim joined us as well. Lots of fun and laughter!

September brought it's own excitement… baby Hugh was born - congratulatons to Amy and Kyle! I had a nice visit in Calgary with Laura and Frances - while Ted was away at the Gorge. They took me to the most beautiful library I've ever seen … and then after dinner we walked through 'Confederation Park' - which was also beautiful :)

I had time for another visit to the Farm … before heading off with Ted to Italy on a grand adventure! We were gone for 3.5 weeks - and spent two weeks cycling with our good friends Carolyn & Scott :) It was so great to re-connect with them. We had spent many, many years together - camping at Nitinat lake.

Once we returned in October, we hit the ground running…. Thanksgiving at the Farm - more work projects - a conference - & lots of time spent in St. Albert for Ted with his folks.

November got me in the Christmas spirit… as I joined Samantha & Joelle for a day of 'Christmas markets' … I loved it!

Then it was time to start thinking of re-packing … for our trip to Cuba. Cuba was loads of fun…. I really enjoyed the people we travelled with… Lots of good memories!
Right now I am trying to finalize our plans for Christmas. I am looking forward to getting together with our kids in Calgary on the 23rd, and then being at Patty's with Ted on Christmas Day. We will arrive at the Farm late on Christmas Day and enjoy a few days with mom and dad .... also celebrating mom's 80th Birthday on the 27th (a bit early).

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and all the best in 2020!
