Olena surprised us with a wedding announcement. She was married to Kirill August 28, 2004. They have been going through very interesting, but difficult, times with their "Peaceful Revolution" in the Ukraine. Olena has been keeping us up to date with her many emails. We wish you happiness always. |

Spring Ski Trip I don't ever remember having more fun than on our weekend ski trip last spring. It was the kids first time in the mountains - one day at Nakiska and one day at Sunshine. Both kids have been snowboarding for two years, so the skiing part was not an issue. The weather was a bit blustery, but everyone had lots of fun, and the second day at Sunshine, we had 18cm of fresh powder. |

| We had lots of fun at Rabbit Hill this season. Both Brian & Paulette's family, and Patty & Ross's family also had memberships, so we had many great days together. Devon and Spencer were in the "Extreme Snowboard Club" together. |

Family Holiday - Nitinat Lake on Vancouver Island - 2004 |

We went to Nitinat for our summer holiday again this
year. The weather was great for the third year in a row... with the
exception of the 2-day monsoon (to be expected), and once
again we met many old and new friends. I'm not sure which I enjoy
more; the Sailing, or sipping wine on the beach in the evening, watching the
sunset with all our friends, talking about the sailing.
Spencer and Laura have really improved their windsurfing skills. I think they are starting to get old enough to understand what is going on, and strong enough to master it. Louise was also impressing us with completing a lot of her Jibes. |

This year we went on an ocean adventure with "Fred" a local who manages the village. We had a great tour of the lake, then through the "narrows" and out into the ocean. We saw some whales, and sea lions, and stopped at a location on the west coast trail, where Fred's ancestors had "long houses" where their warriors would gather to fend off enemy tribes from their precious valley. We explored the beach, had a look at the "trail" and some of the relics, including the foundations of the long houses, and some burial caves. We even stopped to do some fishing. Fred let Spencer real them in - three Ling Cod fish in about three minutes. Everyone had a lot of fun, although the "Alberta contingent was a little green after the ocean swell... |

We had a little trouble on the way back, and ended up getting the truck towed from Hope to Kamloops. The tow truck was very impressive - not even slowing down with our rig on the back. I think the truck is back in form, but we are selling it anyway, and upgrading to a small motorhome. Now we can bring even more gear next year ... just kidding.
Airshow Weekend
On the way home we stopped in Red Deer for the Annual Air Show weekend at Liam's. No Air Show this year, but the hospitality was great as usual. Louise really enjoys the trip to the spa, after three weeks in the bush. It's always great seeing everyone again.
