Laura

Well, this is the first year I've written my own page and I'm not entirely sure what to say.  I tend to have a rather bad memory.  I continued snowboarding from January until sometime in the spring (when Rabbit Hill closed).  In March we went to Sunshine for a weekend and stayed on the hill.  It was a lot of fun.  That same weekend I performed a one act play called "The Boor" back in Camrose.  Spencer was slightly upset by this because we could have stayed an extra day in Sunshine if it hadn't been for me.

In April the choir I'm in, Chorazz!, participated in a music festival that takes place annually in Banff.  Bands and choirs from all over Canada come to Banff for the weekend, it was really neat.  There was a Finnish a cappella group there called Rajaton.  They were the most musically talented people I've ever seen.  We are singing one of their songs this year in Chorazz!, its called Dobbin's Flowery Vale.

In June I wrote a preliminary rudiments theory exam and received 98% on it.  I also passed my grade 5 piano exam with Honours.  Grade 6 piano is turning out to be a lot of fun.  In early November I switched from playing trumpet in concert band to playing the euphonium.  However, I still play trumpet in jazz band.

After our annual trip to Nitinat my friend Caitlyn came home with us.  She had never been through mountains before and I'm sure it was an interesting experience for her, what with all the tow truck rides.  She spent about a week and 1/2 with us before her return flight home.

Sometime in the spring I was recommended for Provincial Honour Band and Provincial Honour Choir by my band teacher.  I was accepted to both events which took place in October.  They were both an amazing experience that I hope to repeat next year.

In my drama class at school this year we rehearsed and performed a Christmas pageant meant for little kids.  It was called the Second Shepard's Play.  I played the villain, while my friend Jeff played my wife.  We performed for many elementary schools.

At the moment I've very excited for my upcoming trip.  I'm going to be spending a week with Caitlyn and her family in Vancouver.  I fly out on December 27, and in on January 2 so that finishes off my year and begins the next one.  Merry Christmas to you all.
