Ted / Dad

Well, a lot of what I had to say, I said on the main page.  It kind of got out of control this year....

I have continued to work with my video’s when I have time. I was asked to do a wedding video this year by a friend at work who's daughter was getting married. That was certainly a step up – and lots of pressure because I didn’t want to screw it up. I am fairly proud of the way it turned out. Lots of work to put together, but fun and satisfying.

The Gorge guy’s (Edmonton Windsurfers) continue to seem to enjoy my efforts with an annual gorge trip video. That one is also fun to put together – everyone enjoys seeing himself sailing – and/or being made fun of by the other guy’s.

I also was asked to do a video of Laura's High School Drama production of the play "Our Town".  It was well received, and I understand will be shown on the local cable channel later this year - once they get all the copy write issues settled.  Who knows – I might like to get into the video business when I retire - - - we will see.

In spite of "differences" now and then, I have really enjoyed Laura and Spencer. Both are testing their "adulthood".  Both are so different from each other, but there also from Louise and I.  I hope that is good.  They are certainly both their own selves.

I turned 50 this April, but did it in style in Margarita, Venezuela.  Lots of support from my friends - just to bad we couldn't have been sailing -- no wind...  :<(

I went to Banff for a music festival with Laura's Choir and Chorazz (vocal jazz) group, and then to Vancouver with the Band, Stage Band, and Choir.  The Music Director, Tom Spila, is a very good friend of mine, so we have lots of fun together.  He has a tremendous talent, and is able to get the most out of all the kids.  Really fun to watch - and listen.  The kids have a lot of talent, and Tom is always able to bring out the best in them.  I sure hope they keep it up after high school.

I coached Badminton again in 2007.  Our team did quite well in the provincials. I am hoping that Spencer will try out for the team in 2008.

The City of Camrose was able to host the Snowbirds in 2007. My department managed the whole event, and while I was able to delegate all of the organizational duties to a young engineer who works with me (Jeremy Enarson – who did a great job!!!) it was fun being around the pilots and airplanes. As usual I took lots of photo’s. The event was extremely well received in the community. We hope to get them back in 2009.

Camrose is booming like never before, so things are extremely busy.

I am very disappointed with my lack of progress loosing weight in 2007. That is something I have to try harder at next year. Carrying an extra 30 pounds around doesn’t really effect my day to day life, but I sure notice the difference on the volleyball court, or windsurfing in light winds. I guess this sounds like a new years resolution.  200 lbs or bust in 2008!!!

Hope to see you all in 2008.

Merry Christmas.
