Louise / Mom

Merry Christmas!

For the first half of the year, I continued to work only four days a week - which was very nice... and was looking forward to my retirement in June. Our Huatulco trip was a lovely winter break!

Ted and I went skiing to Marmot Basin for a couple of days in March ... I went skiing with the kids at the school again (as one of the supervisors) ... and we had a great day on the slopes of Sunshine Village with our kids!

In the Spring I enjoyed a weekend of Stamping with a group of ladies.... and on Mother's Day, Laura and I went up to Roger's Place in Edmonton to watch "Scott & Tessa" skating with Stars on Ice! We loved it ! ! !

We were in Rosebud on June 1st to take in Laura's performance for the Opening Night of "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat"... Wow - loved it!

Unfortunately, near the beginning of June - we learned that my dearest friend, Lorie, was diagnosed with Cancer. Though she battled bravely, she passed away early in October. (How thankful I was that I had more time to spend with her.)

Ted and I still managed to slip away on a couple of quick summer adventures... so nice to have had time to visit with each of my brothers this summer! .... although it sure was a smokey summer.... I even spent a few days in the Gorge with Ted, before flying home -- cycling & vineyards, blowing glass &, of course, chasing the wind.

Near the end of October, I started doing some contract 'clerical' work for Sage Analytics... I've decided that 'contract work' is quite nice :) Also near the end of October, I decided to join Ted on his trip to Cuba... so after rearranging his flight details - we headed off together at the end of November for two weeks away. It was super nice -- yet quite different than our Mexican vacations. I enjoyed meeting lots of new people!

We just had an early Christmas celebration ... as Spencer will be working on Christmas day once again... (& this year he is away in Lloydminster on Christmas day).

Best wishes for a Happy New Year!
