Merry Christmas & best wishes for a Happy New Year!

Family - holidays - work . . . 2017 was another nice mix of these things.

Our trip to Huatulco in January was another thumbs up - loved it! The dynamics had changed again. Bob was back - so great! And, for the first time, Ted's sisters joined us - the more the merrier :) We are looking forward to having Patty & Ross and Micky & Darcy join us again in 2018.

February was back to work . . .& a bit of a stay-at-home Vacation for me (with Ted being away in Costa Rica :)

At the beinning of March, Ted & I drove down to Calgary to pick up Paulo & Leila - Rotarians who were arriving from Brazil - and staying with us for a few days. The weather was very cold and wintry while they were here... I guess that was a good thing . . . ?

The following week, I spent a day at Rabbit Hill with our school kids - so much fun, being on the hill with the kids! I thought it was a real treat... to be paid for spending the day on the hill as a Supervisor -- rather than sitting at my desk :)

Once again Ted and I lucked out - being able to visit with Hans & Sue, at their place in Canmore. This time around, Sue & I even spent a day at the Spa!!

Enjoying a ski-doo ride :)

Cycling - near home.

April was spent with family and friends. Visiting at the farm & St. Albert for Easter - and watching as the ice disappeared off of the lake.

I ended the month by spending the weekend at another Stamp Retreat. So awesome!

May & June were quiet... enjoying time at the lake, & going to a couple of Bridal Showers.

In June & July, we watched as a Robin's nest was constructed and occupied (very close to our Hot Tub)... We made the call to forgo Tubbing for a few weeks - to let the Robins have some space. Ted snapped some great photos thru a bedroom window -- and then decided to install a Bird Cam... B We felt like proud parents when 3 baby Robins hatched & grew... then left the nest & flew away. But we were not quick enough to start using the Hot Tub after the first batch of Robins hatched... so suddenly there was Mama bird... back on the nest for Round 2. All was going well, until one day - when our neighbours' serial-killer cat - jumped up and destroyed everything! We were somewhat traumatized :(

Vernon

Mid July was the first of 3 weddings we would attend. Samantha is the daughter of my dear friend, Lorie. (Lorie & I have know each other since we were in kindergarten.) What a special day that was! Such fun visiting with Lorie's family once again.

During the final week of July, we headed down to Vernon...& spent a couple of days with Pierre & Lynn -- Fabulous! (We were fortunate that the many wild fires in B.C. did not affect out plans. So sad that there were so many wild fires burning out of control.)

From Vernon we headed to Narimata, to check in our friend (Adrien's) sister, Florianne, who was on a work visa (visiting from France) and had just had a bad fall and broken her wrist. She seemed to be in good spirits and in good hands - so we carried on towards Oliver... stopping in to visit with our former neighbours, Rob & Caroll.

We spent a couple of days in Osoyoos. The first day we visited a couple of vineyards & tried out some paddleboards. The next day was the wedding of Kevin & Kate. It was a beautiful wedding ... and a beautiful day - we tried to find shade when we could ... +37.

Together in Scotland!

We left our lovely Bed & Breakfast on Sunday morning, heading straight home - so we could prepare for our departure to Scotland... the following Wednesday.

Visiting with Laura in Scotland was wonderful! Oban was beautiful - the whole area, was stunning! Such fun - spending our evenings & a couple of days with Laura :) Renting the e-bikes was so perfect.... It was incredible, riding & seeing all of the things that we did! Heighlan Coos & Castles... perfect! We spent 8 nights in Oban, then headed off (with most of Laura's luggage).

Our 3 days on the Isle of Skye was nice - but somehow, not as stellar as I had expected. (Somehow our driver managed to avoid most of the key sites that I was hoping to see :(

In August we also attended a special Birthday celebration - for Tante Mimi's 90th!

Then .... I returned to work. The new school year - brought us a new Principal (my 6th one). Not sure what geniuses at our division office think it's a good idea to randomly switch Principals around so frequently.... but I disagree :(

Cycling in the same pasture as Heilan Coo :)

September flew by. That is always such a hectic month at the school. But then in October, I was able to return to my 4-day-a-week work schedule.... so civilized ;)

Laura returned home from her travels at the end of October - just after Ted and I celebrated our 30th anniversary. That was a pretty special week!

At the beginning of November, we headed down to southern Saskatchewan, for our niece's wedding. Unfortunately, we had to drive through an intense snow storm - but once we arrived, we sure had fun!

Later in November we headed to Calgary, staying with Marc & Tina for a couple of nights. It was great to catch up with the four of them! Taylor & Carter seem so grown up :)

The end of this year has been quite quiet. I don't enjoy the shorter days - so am looking forward to the new year, as our day light increases. Best wishes to you -for a Happy New Year!
