For Spencer, 2017 was quite similar to 2016. He continued to work for Rife Resources with an 8-day on, 6-day off schedule.
That meant that every other week, he had 6 days off to go on another adventure. With this schedule, he was able to take full advantage of his toys (Snowboard, Skidoo, Motorcycle, and Truck).
Highlights included a group trip to Kicking Horse to go Snowboarding, three or four skidoo trips to Sicamous, a couple of trips to Vernon, a road trip to Phoenix with friends Noel, Blake and Tyler - and several Bike trips.
Of course he was also able to fit in some fishing and wakesurfing, as well as play on the "Broken Bat's" slow pitch team as well as a division one mixed volleyball team.

On one solo Motorcycle roadtrip, Spencer started in Camrose then went to Jasper, Valemount, Clearwater, Kamloops, Princeton, Osoyoos, Nelson, Cranbrook, Fernie, and Calgary.
He stayed overnight with his cousin Sean in Airdrie, and then drove back to Camrose for a total of almost 2400km in three days. He had a hammock tent that he slept in along the way.
He took some beautiful photos of his Bike and the scenery along the way which I have included below. Pretty impressive for photos taken with an iphone!

Another highlight of the year was "Noel Day". Noel is a friend of Spencer's, and one of our neighbours. For whatever reason, the entire group of friends decided to dress up to look like Noel (including long blonde wigs).
Apparently it was quite a party - all happening in a small ice shack out in the middle of the lake.
Yet another highlight, was Big Valley Jamboree. Spencer borrowed our old Motorhome so he woudn't have to use a tent this year. He attended with a few of his cousins. I understand that everyone had a lot of fun, but I am not sure I want to know all the details.

Spencer and his friends have a tradition of dressing up for Halloween. This year, Spencer dressed up as Slash, the lead singer for Guns N' Roses.
He had been to a Guns N' Roses concert earlier in the year with friends, and somehow managed to obtain the actual shirt that Slash wore during the performance.
Unfortunately Slash has a habit of wearing less than "family-friendly" tee shirts. I therefore had to do some photoshop work to clean up the tee shirt.....(Louise made me do it...)
