Laura
Laura also had a very busy year. She finished her first year at Rosebud School of the Arts, and is now half way through her second. Only two and a half left to go. She really enjoys the school and the performances.

She worked as a labourer for the City again last summer doing sidewalk repairs and other various tasks. It's not that exciting, but it is a good job that pays well. I think she enjoyed it. We hear lot of funny stories about the crew - and details about mixing the silica products used for sidewalk patching....

The highlight of the year was her last day of work, listening to the city radio as other crews tried to round up a herd of buffalo that had excaped from a local farm and were wandering around the city...

Living away from home...care packages are always nice...
Laura participated in the Passion Play again last summer in Drumheller. She played several parts, and really enjoys both the people and the acting. She is hoping to be involved in it again next year.

Both Laura and Spencer had a great time at the Big Valley Jamboree last summer. Unfortunately, both have turned to the dark side... and now like country music. I don't know what we are going to do.....

We miss having Laura around the house, and I particularly miss her piano playing and music...We do get down to Rosebud several times a year to visit and watch her performances. This year we saw their production of "Revenge of the Space Panda's", and the next weekend went down again for the community Christmas Concert. It is an amazing little town.

I think everyone who lives in Rosebud is involved either in the Dinner Theater, the School of the Arts, or supports them some way with a craft store, providing housing for the students etc. Everyone there seems to be an artist of some sort. Very cool.

Next year (2011) Laura will go to London, England with her class. They will take part in some workshops and watch several performances. Laura is looking forward to that trip!

Laura turned 21 this past November. Hard to believe! She is back home for Christmas, and we are just getting ready to head to the Farm and then to St. Albert to visit all the family. It is wonderful having her home for a few days. We hope to get to Jasper for a day after Christmas to do some family snowboarding!

Laura wishes you all a very
Merry Christmas!

In the Spring/Summer, I participated in the Canadian Badlands Passion Play

I played several roles in the play, and hope to do the same in 2011. It's lots of fun, good experience, and it's wonderful when friends and family come to watch the performance!

Fun with friends at Rosebud!

Laura, Jess and Sarah

I earn some money by singing for the folks eating dinner before theater performances. Last year I was in a group with Rachel and Natalie.

Fun with Cousins.....
