I love airshows! In July, the City of Cold Lake, partnered with the Cold Lake base to host the Cold Lake Airshow in celebration of 60 years of military aviation. I know the Mayor and City Manager in Cold Lake, and they offered to give us VIP tickets.
We drove to Bonniville on the Friday, and then headed to Cold Lake on Saturday morning. The weather cooperated as the drizzle in the morning ended and we had a great afternoon for the show. There weren't any US military aircrafts, which was disappointing, but the base put on a great show. Our VIP parking got us right to the front, which was great, but at the end of the show, it meant we were the last to leave. We spent three hours in the car in the parking lot waiting to get out... Next time, we just need to spend that time looking around or sitting in the shade.
